Why Florida Matters

Why Florida matters to us.

Florida is our home state. We launched here in June 2024 and built our first clinical operation between Miami and Jacksonville.

Florida families have unique access to autism funding through the Step Up For Students Personalized Education Program, which can be used toward therapy and educational services. We built our intake team to walk Florida families through every funding path available to them.

We are in-network with Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, and Florida Blue (Blue Cross Blue Shield). We are actively working on adding additional networks. Florida families also qualify for the Step Up For Students Personalized Education Program, which provides up to $10,000 per child per year toward therapy.

ABA Therapy in Florida

House of Hearts ABA provides in home and school based ABA therapy for children ages 1 to 18 throughout the state of Florida. As a dedicated applied behavior analysis provider, we deliver individualized autism therapy in Florida where children learn best: in their own homes, in their classrooms, and in the community settings where real progress actually shows up. Our BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians serve families across Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Orange, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Duval, Lee, Collier, Sarasota, and surrounding counties, which means families in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Naples, and Sarasota can access high quality ABA services close to home. Every program we build starts with a comprehensive assessment and a treatment plan designed around your child's specific goals, whether that means building communication skills, reducing challenging behaviors, developing daily living independence, or preparing for a successful school year.

Insurance Accepted and No Waitlist for Florida Families

We know that waiting is the hardest part of an autism diagnosis, which is why House of Hearts ABA maintains no waitlist anywhere in Florida. We have clinical staff positioned in every region of the state, so when your child is ready to begin ABA therapy, we can get started right away instead of adding another name to a list. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna, and our team handles insurance verification and authorization for you so that you can focus on your child rather than on paperwork. If your child has recently been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, or you are searching for an ABA therapy provider near you in Florida who can start quickly, contact House of Hearts ABA today for a free consultation.

Florida only

Florida-only: the family empowerment scholarship.

Florida families may qualify for over ten thousand dollars per year through FES-UA — the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities — administered by Step Up For Students. The funds can go toward ABA therapy, tutoring, and approved educational services.

We walk Florida families through the application, the marketplace selection, and the renewal each year — so the funding is one less thing to figure out alone.

What Care Looks Like

What care looks like in Florida.

01

In your home

Most Florida sessions happen in your living room across Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Orlando.

02

In your child's school

We coordinate with IEP teams in Miami-Dade, Broward, Hillsborough, and Duval school districts.

03

In-person supervision

Our BCBA supervision is delivered in person whenever possible — it's the ideal way for our team to observe directly and coach in the moment. When scheduling, distance, or family circumstances make in-person difficult, we deliver supervision over secure video instead.

Florida FAQ

Florida questions, answered.

What insurance do you accept for ABA therapy in Florida?

House of Hearts ABA accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield (Florida Blue), United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna for ABA therapy in Florida, and we also work with private pay families. Our intake team verifies your benefits for free before you commit to anything, so you know your coverage, your authorization timeline, and any out of pocket cost up front.

Does Blue Cross Blue Shield cover ABA therapy in Florida?

Yes. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida (Florida Blue) covers ABA therapy for children with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, and House of Hearts ABA is in network. We handle the benefits verification and the prior authorization paperwork for you so your child can start without the usual delay.

Do you take United Healthcare, Aetna, or Cigna for autism therapy in Florida?

Yes. We are in network with United Healthcare, Aetna, and Cigna across Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. Send us your plan details and we will confirm your specific benefits at no cost.

Which Florida cities does House of Hearts ABA serve?

We serve families statewide. Our largest Florida service areas include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville, St. Petersburg, Hialeah, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, Sarasota, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, Port St. Lucie, Tallahassee, and Lakeland, plus the surrounding communities in each region.

Is there a waitlist for ABA therapy in Florida?

No. House of Hearts ABA maintains no waitlist anywhere in Florida. We keep clinical staff positioned in every region of the state, so most families move from first call to first session in 14 to 30 days rather than waiting months for an opening.

Do you offer private pay ABA therapy in Florida?

Yes. Families who are uninsured, out of network, or who prefer not to involve insurance can pay privately for ABA therapy in Florida, and private pay does not require an autism diagnosis to begin. We will walk you through transparent pricing and the available Florida funding options, including the Step Up For Students scholarship.

Do I need a diagnosis before House of Hearts can help?

It depends on how you plan to pay. For insurance-covered ABA, yes — Florida insurance requires an autism diagnosis from a licensed psychologist or developmental pediatrician before services can begin. For private pay, no — you can begin services without a formal diagnosis. If you don't have one yet and you'd like one, we can refer you to a diagnostic partner.

What is Step Up For Students and can I use it for ABA?

Step Up For Students is a Florida scholarship that covers up to $10,000 per child per year for autism-related services, including therapy. Many of our families use it alongside insurance.

Which Florida Medicaid plans do you accept?

At this time, we do not accept Florida Medicaid plans. We are actively working toward becoming in-network and will update this page when coverage is available. You can still submit our intake form so we can reach out as soon as we are accepting Medicaid families.

Can my child get ABA at school in Florida?

It depends. Whether ABA can happen at school depends on both your insurance plan and whether your child’s school and district permit outside providers in the classroom. We coordinate with IEP teams where the school allows it, but we cannot guarantee in-school services in every case.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. We offer secure video supervision and parent training when in-person is not the right fit.

How fast can we start?

Most Florida families move from first call to first session in 14 to 30 days.
